The Centre for Applied Technology


The Centre for Applied Technology is the largest building project in NAIT’s history. Opened in August 2016, the 51,600-square-metre (555,000-square-foot) building includes 77 classrooms, 45 labs and advanced simulation environments, a 135-seat lecture theatre, student lounges and commons areas, and food services.

Approximately 5,000 students from NAIT’s JR Shaw School of Business, School of Applied Sciences and Technology and School of Health and Life Sciences study in the building, and nearly 500 staff work in the building.

In 2017, The Centre for Applied Technology received gold certification under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system.
