Cambrian College Graphic Design grad earns top award in RGD Student Awards Competition

“An outstanding graduate of Cambrian College’s Graphic Design program has been recognized for excellence in visual communication and design, earning top awards through the RGD Student Awards competition.

Neli Nenkova’s winning work was selected by judges from the Association of Registered Graphic Designers (RGD) and was featured at the annual DesignThinkers conference held in Toronto in November 2016.

Nenkova was recognized with the 50 Carleton Award for Logo Design. In that category, her submission was a redesigned logo for Bulgaria. She also received the Studio 123 Award for Northern Ontario for her TXT L8R campaign to stop texting and driving.

In Sudbury, Nenkova’s public art is seen by thousands of people every day. She was a featured muralist in the 2016 Up Here Festival, and her large-scale mural brightens up the busy commute on the Kingsway just east of downtown. The holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts and Fashion Design, Nenkova is an accomplished visual artist. Her paintings are in public and private collections in France, Bulgaria, Italy, Germany, Greece, USA, Japan, Turkey, The Vatican and Canada. She is currently a graphic designer at Colourphill Design Inc.”
