Cambrian College Graphic Design students benefit from partnership with local businesses

Cambrian College

from the Sudbury Star:

“Cambrian College Graphic Design students will be earning credits and pay cheques at the same time thanks to a partnership with four local businesses.

The partnership was announced on January 13 between Cambrian College’s Graphic Design program; its applied research arm, Cambrian Innovates, and the Ontario Centres for Excellence VEBTA program.

This new partnership will enable six Graphic Design students to gain experience through a paid placement with local businesses and organizations which include the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM), Fuel Multimedia, Studio 123, and Design de Plume.

The project is funded by the Ontario Centres for Excellence (OCE) Voucher for E-Business and Technology Adoption (VEBTA) program and facilitated by Cambrian College’s applied research arm, Cambrian Innovates.

A press release issued by the college said, “Students will either work directly with clients or be embedded as part of the design team of a local business or organization. The students will aid the businesses in developing stronger online tools or social media assets to support their goals.””
