JIBC contributes to creation of national roadmap for paramedic training in Singapore

Justice Institute of British Columbia

The Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC) has long had a partnership with the Singaporean government in the training of paramedics. JIBC helped launch the paramedic training program for the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and the Singapore Civil Defence Force in 1996. Since then, the relationship has strengthened, resulting in the 2012 co-development of the Diploma in Health Sciences (Emergency Medical Services) for SAF members.

In the latest phase of this partnership, in 2015, JIBC and the Singaporean government announced a program which provides paramedics in Singapore with an opportunity to complete an advanced diploma or bachelor’s degree. As part of the requirements of the degree program, students will complete a number of online JIBC courses in paramedicine and public safety.
