Montreal area nursing students from John Abbott College (JAC) have decided to do something very different for spring break this year!
They are heading out on a humanitarian trip to Jamaica far from tourist destinations. They will be spending ten days in communities where distance and significant financial constraints means limited medical attention.
The JAC-Jamaica Nursing Team will share their knowledge in health promotion presentations, will run blood pressure and vision screenings while also learning what it is to treat people face to face for the first time, from members of communities that are so very different from their own here in Canada.
