from the Windsor Star:
St. Clair College and the University of Windsor celebrated the launch of EPIC Genesis Thursday at the college’s south Windsor campus.
The project is the latest partnership between the two schools and aims to connect the varying skill sets of students at both institutions, to encourage entrepreneurship and business startups.
The EPIC Genesis office will take over the former Genesis Centre at the college and will offer working and event space for students.
“St. Clair College faculty, students and alumni will add a new dimension to the innovative activities taking place in EPICentre,” said University of Windsor president Alan Wildeman in a statement.
St. Clair College president Patti France said the collaboration reduces duplication by the two institutions.
“The opportunity for our students to work with the students and staff of the university — and their students and staff to work with the college’s — means that entrepreneurs will have access to the cutting-edge expertise of both institutions,” France said.
“The university was well-positioned to be the lead agency in this particular partnership and we’ll continue to explore other opportunities to jointly assist the students of both institutions.”
The St. Clair site is the third EPICentre location.
