The Landscape Construction Pavilion

Olds College

In 1997, Olds College opened the Landscape Construction Pavilion with support from the Bank of Montreal, the Landscape Alberta Nursery Trades Association and members of the horticulture industry.

The Landscape Construction Pavilion was constructed in response to industry requests for Olds College to provide students with greater opportunities to develop hands-on horticultural skills.

The facility offers 12,000 sq. ft. of heated indoor space with an earth floor to facilitate student projects.  Throughout the year, student complete projects and gains experience in

  • landscape and golf course construction,
  • irrigation installation and testing,
  • arboriculture
  • and other areas of horticulture.

The Pavilion also fulfills the industry’s need for a facility to be utilized for industry training and certification programs such as the Certified Horticulture Technician (CHT) and the Utility Tree Worker.
